The Task
With 130 years of experience, McGraw-Hill has established itself as a leader in the educational publishing industry, offering a robust catalog of over 6,000 titles.
In 2020, they set their sights on the next big innovation: launching an educational app designed to empower students in a whole new way. The app would be called Sharpen.
The Challenge
I collaborated with two companies to produce over 1,200 animated videos, consistently delivering 8 videos per day. My primary responsibility in this extensive project was to revise and craft visual descriptions that transformed raw content into engaging and coherent storytelling.
I utilized metaphors, analogies, and various literary techniques to create compelling narratives that were both accessible and captivating for users.
My work focused on enhancing viewer understanding and engagement, ensuring that each video not only conveyed its intended message clearly but also resonated with the audience on a deeper level.
Over 1400 Animation Scripts
The Scripts
The animated videos covered a wide range of college-level subjects, from science, biology, and history to chemistry, music, finance, microbiology, anatomy, medical assistance, business management, and more.
Bringing each video to life posed a unique challenge. Writing each scene required thorough research to ensure accuracy in the terminology and processes portrayed. While each video followed a structured format, we also wove in metaphors and storytelling techniques to make complex concepts more accessible and engaging.
